jcb857 161 #1 Posted February 3, 2011 I have a k91 that was on my 401 and I am having trouble with the recoil. I know nothing about recoils. This is what it is doing, it will engage halfway through a pull cycle sometimes, other times nothing. The arms or fingers or what ever they are called will only expand around 1/4 of an inch when pulling the rope. The cup is smooth and some sign of wear. What should be the ID of the cup? Is it suppose to be smooth or should there be nipples or ridges in it for the fingers to engage against. It is a fairbanks recoil. Thank you for your help. wheelhorse656 20 #2 Posted February 3, 2011 all the ones i have seen are smooth with slite raises for the prog to catch on. if you need a knew recoil i have a good one but it is not a fair banks mowers recoil.
bell 11 #3 Posted February 3, 2011 The Fairbanks-Morse recoil has a smooth cup. I believe Charlie (CharliesD250) has, or had, rebuild kits for the F-M recoils.... But I could be mistaken.
