Woke up to a ANOTHER 20" in driveway

Recommended Posts

Docwheelhorse

Somebody send help.... 20" more in the driveway. Horses ready to go but grudgingly. Connecticut has set new record for most snow in one month going all the way back to 1905. Previous record was December 1945 with 44.9 inches and we are somewhere near 60" for Janaury 2011. We hae also set the new one day snow fall record two weeks ago with somewhere over 24". The C141 with the blower is demanding a raise.... :banghead:

Hang in there Tony! Those Horses are ready to go to battle! I can't imagine getting that much snow in one month. Heck we are lucky to get that much snow in one winter season anymore! Stay safe! :banghead:

Wow, that is a lot of snow! Thank goodness for that blower though. If you were pushing it you would be out of room to push for sure.

I've been lucky so far this winter, 2" here, 1" there, until last night. Had 8" of new, wet snow. I've been plowing without chains so far this year, but last night was different. Had to put on the chains.

I know you guys are getting pounded further up north, and even with 8", I feel lucky.

Hey Tony, it's nice to share! Good Luck. I sure wished I had something to do.We might have had 8" all winter. Weatherman says that might change here in coming weeks. They say instead of going up the coastline like it has, weather pattern is going to push it inland so its showing that we in Ohio should start getting some of the snow. 875 + C175 are ready to rock. GT14 in garage and won't take long to throw a blade on, if and when needed. Good Luck Tony and New England states. :banghead:

You might have to ask santa for some of the magic reindeer feed so the horses can fly over the snow. :banghead: How about some pics?

Hello All---here are a few pics of my kids on Mount Snow and one of my 25'x4' swimming pool in the back yard. Its a sight to see.... unfortunately it got serious today when several buildings in Connecticut folded up trapping several people and two horse barns let go killing 3 horses..... 1 had 4 horses in it and three got out with the help of the fire department... the other had 7 and 5 got out with the help of the fire department again... the other horses had to be euthanized on scene----they must of been partially crushed. :banghead: Also the Garelick farms big milk processing plant in Massachuesetts folded up trapping 18 workers..... this has been a heck of a winter and ALOT of snow.

That's the first I heard of that but I just looked because there is a plant near me. Looks like it was a senior center behind Garelick farms in Lynn. Unless both did and Garelick farms isn't online yet. Either way its serious stuff and hopefully nobody got hurt. I already had plans to snowblow the deck tomorrow and try to lighten the load on the roof. Be careful all.

Now you know how i felt last year. The first storm was kinda fun but when it starts getting wet and the piles become too big for a plow then it sucks. The wet snow down here was a 100% effort to clean up today. Took all morning with the d-250 using both the plow and snowblower.

Mail lady was pissed the mailbox wasnt cleared yet but that required the blower and she just needed patience

I feel for you guys out east. Went thru the big blizzard back in 1977 here in SW Ohio as a teenager, everything was at a standstill. Winds 35-45 miles and hour with gusts to 60 mph! Power was out for a few days, no such thing as a generator around my area back then! Stayed in the house with the dogs and alot of candles. Helicopters flying people to hospitals, road graders clearing roads, total shutdown back then. Then, we had one again in 1978 during the same time frame!!!

Just got back from California yesterday. San Diego and riverside area. 70s and 80s everyday. Found another 12 inches in my drive when I got home.

I just got the snow thrower for my tractor this year and couldn't wait for the first snow to try it out. Well careful what you wish for. I'm done. It's still fun but enough is enough. Spent most of the day doing my drive and shoveling my roof. Cmon spring.
