I'm probably a little slow on the uptake here, but based on your current avatar and the title of this thread, am I correct in my understanding that those are not new decals, but the originals that were formerly completely covered with paint ?

Man, if that's the case....Wow!!! :ROTF: They turned out fantastic!!! :banghead:

What sort of stripping product did you use?

You know, I'm amazed at the durability of the original WH decals. When I recovered my grandfather's long-lost '73 Model 10, it had been living outside (near the water) for years. The "paint" is more brown than red, but with a little mild soap and water, those decals still shine like new!

Great looking 800.

I couldn't agree more. I've seen alot of tractor that guys are bringing in and the decals still look great no matter what shape the tractor was in.

His 800 does look good. love the tires!

Yes, original decals. I dont remember the brand of stripper. It was in a spray can that was gold in color. I would spray some on, then rub it around with my finger, wait until it started to peel the paint then i would rub it off. I then cleaned it off with soapy water and re applied the stripper untill i got it all. I had to use a razor blade for some to. took me about three hours.
