Confused99 2 #1 Posted January 24, 2011 I remember asking this question when I bought the Raider but how do you tell the difference between a 12 and 16 Kohler? I always thought the Kohler in the Raider seemed big but just assumed it was a 12 since there is no longer a sticker on the fan shroud. The reason I ask is while out there today, I was comparing the engine in the Raider to the engine in the 520H I just bought. I measured a couple of things like the flywheel screen and head bolt spacing and both are the same. Is there any way to tell? I know the motor in the 520 is a 16hp Kohler but not 100% sure on the Raider. Oh, I also counted the cooling fins and I believe there were 12 on both? Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance. Confused99 2 #4 Posted January 25, 2011 Both have 10 bolts. Guess the Raider was a sleeper I always figured it was 12hp. Makes sense how well it threw snow with the 2 stage. I also found "J / 6" stamped on the PTO side of the block on the Raider?
