The Back Forty Farm Museum.....picture heavy

Recommended Posts

Buzz

My local club, the South Jersey Gas Engine Club, had a case of cabin fever so we arraigned a visit to he Back Forty Farm Museum in Royersford PA yesterday. There are very few garden tractors but if you like looking at beautifully restored tractors and farm machinery it's worth a visit....on a warmer day :banghead: . It was 9 degrees out and the buildings weren't heated except for the garage where we had coffee and donuts. There was no charge and theowner seemed really pleased that we came to see his 150 tractors. It would be a worthwhile day trip with your car club, 4-H group, etc. You can call for info at 610-948-1347. After the visit we took the long way home and stopped at the Shady Maple Smogasbord for lunch.

Luckily I wore my "fat pants".

If only it was warmer............. Free admission and they supplied us with coffee and donuts, and a heated bathroom :banghead: They took a group photo and will display it in their office area. Really, really good people.

Nice collection of tractors, looks like a fun trip in spite of the cold. Is it a private collection Buzz? :banghead: Open to the public, or by appointment only?

According to the brochure I picked up they're open for self guided tours weekdays, free admission. Also said a nice place to have your church, school, group function. It's all owned by one man. It's a 150 acre farm that has been put into PA's preservation program so it can't be developed. Now in Feburary our club is taking a long ride out to Newville PA to see the "Kern's family tractors of yesteryear". That's all I know about it, except we'll be stopping on the way home at the Shady Maple :hide::banghead:
