Remember the 200,000 post craze that we just went through. We were led ( just kidding) to believe that TT was the winner and there was no real way of knowing...not so.

I was researching some posts by member name, looking for information for a project, when I noticed that all of the posts are numbered according to the site count. I went to my profile and pulled up all posts and found that I had the 200,007 post. So I go to TT's profile and find that he in fact had the 200,008 post. I intend to pursue the question and to figure out who really had the 200,000 post. Someone here does, and it is not who we thought.

I really need to get a life. Any help would be appreciated.

Once upon a time, the posts in the "just for fun" forum didn't count. If you posted there, your member post count stayed the same.

However, they did register within the forum "programming", which assigns a consecutive number to every post ever made.

Karl might have a different explanation though.

TT...there is a post on Red Square that does have 200,000 on it. So far, I have narrowed it down to January 3, 2011 at 6:04 PM with the 199,992 and my post January,3 2011 at 6:29 PM for my 200,007 post.

Well..... there's 2 things going on here. When a topic or post gets deleted, the number doesn't get re-used BUT the post count gets lowered. So, throughout time although the forum's technical number may show post 200145 (or what ever) the actual number of posts could be 200,000. Because of this mismatch, you will never be able to determine through history who actually got post 200,000. The only post number we know for sure is whchris got post #1

So........... you are saying that a fellow New Jersey member isn't gonna get the prize for the 200,000 post. It's bad enough that the Feds wreaked havoc with our "family' here and in New York, and now this I'm saying fugedaboudit.
