ricksrj58 273 #1 Posted January 16, 2011 picked up this tractor for my nephew and nothing was hooked up,engine condition unknown so i swapped a good engine on it and now i need to figure out the wiring i am majorly challenged when it comes to electrical systems, where does this wire go to? it is the second wire for the safty switch. Kai Thomsen 17 #2 Posted January 16, 2011 Probably to the starter relay / solenoid. That way it will only allow power to the solenoid when the switch is activated by the clutch/brake pedal. I think i still have a wiring schematic somewhere for my wheel horse ( 1973 8hp 8speed) if that helps. it cant be that different from yours ?

ricksrj58 273 #4 Posted January 17, 2011 :banghead: i thought the wire might go to the solenoid but just because it will reach there does not always mean that is were it goes.

Save Old Iron 1,563 #6 Posted January 17, 2011 the size of the ring terminal SHOULD limit attachment to the small "starter engage" post on the starter relay. and for having the patience to wait and ask questions versus "just hooking it up and seeing what happens"
