What's the overall opinion on them? What would a clean original good running tractor with a deck be worth?(ballpark figure)

I paid $800 for mine, not that nice, but had 2 tillers, snowblade and a snowblower, runs great, I see the PTO is missing, not sure if all of them have the cone style clutch like mine, but they are not easy to find, or cheap.

Is the PTO different than the one on a single cylinder tractor?

Yes, the PTO is a little different set-up than the single cylinders.

If I'm not mistaken, the PTO on the 195 is specific to the C-195 only. Maybe TT or one the other guys more familiar can confirm this.

P.S. Is that the one on Craigs List for $1000 or best offer? Offer him $700 for it then go up from there.

That's correct. :banghead:

They have a tapered friction hub/lining and matching pulley. The PTO end of the crankshaft is also larger than the "conventional" GT's, so using the typical PTO clutch arrangement would require custom-made parts.

Don't wait on it! Pull the trigger and buy it. There are a few other guys interested in it. I paid $1000 for mine and was in the same condition.

Do C-195s have the same tach-a-matic setup as the smaller C series tractors? i.e. can they all use the same throwers, tillers, plows, mower decks, etc?

I'll second that! Your best option is to buy a complete 3 point from a D and order the one part that's different from Toro for $250+. The complete setup will probably run you $600 or more depending on how much you pay for the used D parts.

If you do a search, there has been discussion on how a D-Series 3 pt. works on the C-195. I have done it. You need to get a new upper link like Fireman said...

Have not really measured the differences but the C-195 does use a 3 pt. tiller...

There is a 3-point for a D in the classifieds right now. Not sure if it is still available.
