On my commando 8, when i open the hood it falls all the way to the frame. Im sure there was something stock to support the hood but what, or will i have to fab something?

Im going to start fixing it up but i dont want the hood slamming down scrathing the paint every time i open the hood, thinking about buying one of those cables that you see holding pick up tailgates from falling down.

mine has a stock rubber boot that rests the hood up agents it so it does not hit the ground. it shows it in the book. :banghead:

When the tractor was new (not worn out) the edges of the hood hinge rested on the plate on the front of the frame.

The nyliner bushings are probably long gone, the hinge rod is grooved, and the holes in the hood hinge are egg-shaped.

This was an 855 with very little wear:

A few pieces of clear door edge molding on the edges of the hinge will help protect the paint.

@Jordan: you must have a different book than I do. :banghead:

@"COMMANDO" (do you have a real name?): manuals and parts lists are all over the internet.

That's my plan on my Raider . . . I don't want the paint getting nicked up.
