Kelly 1,028 #1 Posted December 31, 2010 I seen a ad on CL and the same on Ebay for a 70's vert shaft Ranger, a very nice tractor, I have no interest in vert shaft tractors, but I noticed it had factory cast iron wheel weights, for the rear, they are the same as the fronts on garden tractors, and he also had a tombstone weight that mounted to the back of the tractor, the same weight used in the 60's on the round hoods, so I emailed him asking if he would sell the weights separate? he said if the tractor did not sell he would call me, well last night right after the auction ended, he called, we stuck a deal, he even drove the hour to deliver them , the tombstone weight even has the bracket to mount it to the back of the vert shaft ranger, I never knew they used these weights on the newer tractors? He was a super nice guy, and I think for $185 delivered to my door I got a good deal Now does anyone have a mount bracket for the tombstone weight they want to sell?? or at least dimensions and pictures?? I've never seen one on the back of a tractor, very cool though. Usually that type of front weights go for $300 on ebay.
