Zeek 2,286 #1 Posted December 25, 2010 Prior to starting my Raider resto I decided yesterday to change the oil in my Ariens so I could get it out of way. Read the manual which says ". . .with oil filter replacement capacity - 2.5 Pints." Problem is I was hurrying and thought it said 2.5 QUARTS. Bad News I - I didn't realized until I started it and it blew about 2 quarts of foamy oil all over itself and the floor from every orifice the engine has . . . Bad News II - my hands were such a mess I didn't think to take pictures until after (but at least I took some) Good News - after I drained what was left and refilled it with fresh stuff it fired right up and ran fine (1.5 hours later) - WHEWWW Approximately 2 QTS of this all over the floor . . .
