first thing I would try is to "tap" the carb with a small ball peeen hammer...maybe the float is stuck. :ychain:

yeah its outside, in a sort of shed with no door but a roof so it wouldnt be damaged from rain/snow. I just retried to start it, and it just wont budge. Itll sit where it is until get the proper engine for it. Right now it has a 12hp, the old owner bought it from someone who changed it over, all ran fine before this incident and i WAS a proud wheelhorse owner.

Well they all need a little love now and then, you need to figure out the problem, kinda sounds like it might have mosture in the ign. system, did you give it time to warm up? I have a couple that run like crap cold, and take 5 min. to warm up.

well, even after letting it run for about 5 or so minutes before it started acting up, it still gave me problems when i tried to move it again.

Its always the carb...

At least every time I have something run rough.

Well, not really, but usually a quick removal and clean will work.

Check the teminals in the ignition switch, my 416-8 was doing the samething and it was a very dirty teminal.
