To the Brookfield, CT Police Officer

Recommended Posts

nylyon

So here I was, on my way to Costco to buy some gifts for the kids and the Christmas Roast Beast. Driving (cautiously as usual) on Federal Road, a busy 4 lane road when I pass a police car who was driving in the slow lane. I look in my passenger mirror and I see the cop pulling up along side of me... Uh Oh.... Tail light? Break Light? Didn't think I was speeding? By the Shop Rite, the light turns red, and the car pulls along side of me and the officer signals for me to roll down my window.

So I take off with wheels spinning....... nah, I rolled down my window and the officer starts to yell out his window "I love Wheel Horses!" I had forgotten that I put a Red Square sticker on the back of the truck. Then he yells out, "I've got a 520". I yelled back, "Well you'll have to join WheelHorseForum.com" I hope he heard me, and / or does a search on the internet and finds us like so many of you have.

Moral to the story, Brookfield cops are Wheel Horse friendly AND be careful rustling Wheel Horses in Brookfield, CT!

Officer, if you join, Welcome to RedSquare! Next time we'll have to meet up for coffee!

Brookfield CT. Cops have always been cool. Almost 25 yrs. ago I was doing wide open donuts around a light pole in the Caldor parking lot (Kohl's is there now) late at night with my 69 Charger with a 440. I must have done about 25 or so continuous donuts when all of a sudden I see flashing lights. Well, I came to a stop and killed it. Johny law walks over amid the smoke and asks what in the hell am I doing. I told him my motor was breaking up at high RPM's and I was just testing it out to see if I corrected the problem. He looked at me, called me a dumb ass and told me it was my lucky day as he was also a 69 Dodge Charger owner! I was incredibly lucky because if my old man found out he would have skinned me. :ychain:

That's a great story Karl, but I'd still watch my speed there. Horses will get you out of a lot of scrapes, but the police will do their job if they have to, and you got some nice ones to confiscate. :ychain:

I was a police officer back in the lates 80`s in a small town in missouri, i got called to the local mcdonalds to clear the kids off the lot. i hated doin that least i new where the kids were. anyhow, i parked back behind the dumpster . and when i was walking around some kid had line locked his stang and started smokin the rears. well when i walked out of the smoke and into the crowd every body went uh oh. i smiled told him do this stuff out of town and i also have a fox body tbird with a blower. and i love line locking burn outs. dont do it in town. ya build a repor with teens, their wealth of information and the police get a lil respect.

My dad was a "Special" officer in my town as I was growing up. Special basically meant that he was a volunteer but could carry a gun and drive the patrol car. Our personal car was equipped with a police radio and siren and was used occasionally as the town's intercepter. It was a highly modified 1971 Chrysler 300 with a 440+6. Most of my life was spent with the cops on fishing trips and practice at the range. Being a crazy teenager (with a lightening car see above) tickets were non existent, BUT the phone calls home happened often! :ychain:
