JMW 3 #1 Posted December 15, 2010 Ok here is my question. I have an older starter/generator 12hp kohler that I am putting on a c-160 but the mounting surface is wider than the frame. Is this normal or do I need a different mount or oil pan ? Can I just make an angle iron bracket for it? Thanks for any help or ideas. Jim.
Kelly 1,028 #2 Posted December 15, 2010 The bottom of the oil pan should have threaded holes for bolts on that side, tip the engine up and take a peek.
JMW 3 #3 Posted December 15, 2010 Thanks Kelly. It did come out of a wh but I never thought to flip it over and look for threaded holes.
Don1977 604 #4 Posted December 15, 2010 I checked the oil pan on my old 12 HP and it has 4 tapped holes in the pan 2 on each side. I always though that they were only on one side.
Kelly 1,028 #5 Posted December 15, 2010 Oil pan will fit on both ways, just depends on were you want the oil drain, so it needs holes on both sides.
