rob65 0 #1 Posted November 30, 2010 Hello out there. Can someone tell me how to replace the front wheel bearings on my d 180? How do you remove the bearing from the hub? I dont want to hammer on the inner race?
wheel horse man 56 #2 Posted November 30, 2010 WELL you are going to have to hit on the inner race here is the easy steps that i know 1) take the rim off the spindel 2)put the rim and tire up on somthing with a hole in it so the hup will stick down in it 3)take a punch and put it in side the hub and tap all around it till the bearing comes out 4)then flip the rim and tire over and put hub in the hole and do the same with the punch thats how to do it
Coadster32 793 #3 Posted November 30, 2010 Why worry about messing up the bearing if you're going to replace it? I used a slide hammer attachment on the bearings in my 854. Once one side is out, I used a metal rod slightly smaller than the thru hole on the rim to get the other side out.
