Snowblower model? w/pics

This is my first attempt at posting pics, so I apologize if they don't show up.

I just finished replacing the chain, drive sprocket and idlers on my blower. Although it runs much quieter and smoother, it only blows snow about three feet. Do you think it's because of my auger?

Also, I'm trying to determine the model of the blower. Anyone have ideas?

This might seem strange but if you are only feeding in an inch or two of snow( like in your pictures) the WH blowers dont chuck it very far. They perform much better with more snow being fed into them. You might also want to sand, prime, and paint the inside of the chute. Finish it with a nice glossy red and after it is good and dry coat it with something like PAM cooking spray. You dont want any snow stickin in the chute.

If your chute cable is wrapped around the crank rod it is likely a model 6-6213. Your housing width extensions are a simple flat plate as shown in the illustrations.

If the cable wraps on a 1-1/2" diameter spool on the crank rod it is likely a model 6-6214. The ipl's at Toro for this one look the same as the 6-6213 but the operator manual has different illustrations. The housing width extensions have a break in them at the front that returns the extension to the straight ahead position.

The trick with the single stage blower is to load them up with snow. If the snow is light then speed up. It takes a little getting used to and get the speed right but you'll get the hang of it. Also run the engine at full throttle. I would also try to straighten out the auger a little. I use a large adjustable wrench and/or a hammer to bend the edges back into shape.

Once again, I thank you all for the good info. The cable is on the rod so it must be a 6-6213. I found a manual for a 6-6211 and it looks the same. I picked up this unit with hopes of keeping my driveway edges from creeping in - as they do each year. If these blowers like to be loaded up, it should work well for me.

I'm new to the world of Wheelhorse and find myself more fascinated with them each day.
