nylyon-(Admin) 7,880 #1 Posted November 15, 2010 If we were to have a Wheel Horse Mascot what would it be?
rmaynard 16,290 #2 Posted November 15, 2010 I don't think that any one particular tractor represents "Wheel Horse". The phenomena of the Wheel Horse experience is a culmination of all the different models that made Wheel Horse what is was. No one tractor can alone be the representative of that experience. Just my 2 cents worth. Bob
racinfool40 203 #3 Posted November 15, 2010 I agree with Bob- I don't know how you could pick just one. They all represent Wheel Horse so well its gonna be tough to come up with in my opinion!!MIKE...
nylyon-(Admin) 7,880 #4 Posted November 15, 2010 Not to represent Wheel Horse, but if RedSquare were to have a Mascot, what tractor would it be? It can't be all of them!
baerpath 517 #5 Posted November 15, 2010 Why does it have to be only one ? One early and one late like Stan and Olly ? Duane
dgoyette 12 #6 Posted November 16, 2010 I love them all - but since I had to choose I voted for 55-64 RJ/Suburbans for a RS mascot.
AMC RULES 37,196 #7 Posted November 16, 2010 I love them all too, but hands down this is currently my favorite . Here's a gratuitous shot of my '88 520-H. Seriously though, as a mascot? Nothing speaks to the heart like a minty clean RJ sporting tri ribs and dual ags.
Rollerman 290 #8 Posted November 16, 2010 Here I picked the 65-72 era as my favorites. Seems like Bob sumed it up best. Maybe some kind of Johnny Cash tractor with design elements from all era's :)
Horse'n Around 22 #9 Posted November 16, 2010 I voted for 1955 to 1964 Front and Mid engine RJ's, Suburbans... because they are the models that started the Wheel Horse line. They have a classic tractor lines and feel to them and even tho all Wheel Horses are more than worthy, I feel like one of the earliest models would represent the brand very well. Im sure that any of them would do the brand proud. Just a thought, John
rmaynard 16,290 #10 Posted November 16, 2010 Not to represent Wheel Horse, but if RedSquare were to have a Mascot RedSquare does represent Wheel Horse. I don't know that RedSquare needs a mascot. If you were to choose an RJ, then those who's tastes favor the later models could be off-put, as would the RJ owners if a C-Series were chosen. Again, just my 2 cents worth. Operator 7 #11 Posted November 16, 2010 I'm with Bob and Racinfool on this one. It would be very hard to pick just one. And a "custom" one just doesn't seem right either My favorite one may not be somebody elses favorite, 520? maybe the big D-200? C-195? Randy
Brrly1 1,146 #12 Posted November 16, 2010 I guess I could vote for the best of two different choices. The rj's versus the GT14's. Six rj's 56-57 plus a 58 or 4 GT14's, one GT14 loader, plus one GT14 trike, and we could always step up to the mighty C195. It's like how do you decide. I spent alot of time on my Dad's GT14. I truly enjoy the rj's, a little small for me but they are fun to putt around on. Beings I was born in 57 I guess you would understand the rest of the story. Half a dozen of one and six of the other. You guys decide. I'll go with whatever you decide. See Ya, Bye Burly :)
Nick 13 #13 Posted November 16, 2010 Its just a mascot, no need for deep thought about the tractor that best sums up the full line of Wheel Horse products. The idea of two sounds interesting. Also could just be a cartoon caricature that blends together several models.
Trouty56 567 #14 Posted November 16, 2010 If RS was to have a mascot...I went with the early models..RJs and such. Not my favorite model but it is or seems more like 'where it started' or the 'roots'.

mavfreak 11 #16 Posted November 16, 2010 wow this is a hard one! Ok something custom I guess something with a little for different years
wheelhorse656 20 #17 Posted November 16, 2010 i think it should be the pond lever steers or the ride away seniors they were the frist right?????? why was that not an option? :)
stevasaurus 23,274 #18 Posted November 16, 2010 OK...the mascot is going to be a tractor, but why does it have to be any certain one. Why can't it be...this year's mascot will feature 702's...next years mascot will feature B-100's and we can have a post that contains only pictures of the featured horse.??? But if we have to have a drawing of a tractor that represents Red Square, I think when you hear the words Wheel Horse, most people would picture a round hood.
wheelhorse656 20 #19 Posted November 16, 2010 im with stevasaurus on the feature tractor ideal.
CasualObserver 3,411 #20 Posted November 16, 2010 I'm not... I think a feature tractor is a show kind of thing. To me a mascot would be more like this.... ripped straight out of the Suburban 400/550 manual..... we could call him Wheelie. (yes... I know... really original) Something we could use in a logo or get made into shirts or something to identify or associate the Redsquare forum with other than just the name and banner. nylyon-(Admin) 7,880 #21 Posted November 16, 2010 Yes Jason, you nailed it! Exactly.
stevasaurus 23,274 #22 Posted November 16, 2010 Kind of figured what you came up with Jason...can you put round hood fenders on it though?? Doubt I would by a t-shirt with that image on it though. Don't like the cartoon thingy. I like the idea of maybe a monthly post of the feature tractor though...could be great for the archives.
Uncle BO 0 #23 Posted November 16, 2010  Jason you did nail-it real good sugestion a cartoon charactor always gets attention unclebo

Brrly1 1,146 #25 Posted November 16, 2010 The picture that Jason posted was the rj that I believe was used in the 1958 parts-owners manual if I remember correctly. I may stand corrected but thats what I recall. I don't think it was in either one of the 55 -57 manuals. See Ya, Bye Burly :)
