I looked up the belt size for my C-175 and the chart said 5/8"x83" so I bougth one. Well when I put it on it was to big, alot of slack and flopped around. The belt was even printed with the size on it. Needless to say I had to put the old one back on. Is the chart correct?

What is your toro #?

Did you look at the chart I just posted? If it is wrong you better have a reciept

I imagine that the chart is mostly correct but I wouldn't be surprised if there are errors with that many different belt numbers.

I thought that also. But they look untouched. Do you know what size they should be?

The engine pulley should be 5", not sure on the tranny pulley size tho.

Have you compared the belts side by side to see the difference? Can you see the brand and part number of the old belt? Maybe we could cross reference it.

No, the old belt is pretty worn. When you stretch them out together the new one is longer.

Is the old belt in good enough shape that they could measure it and match it up where ever you bought the one that doesn't fit? If the old one worked, a new one the same size should also.

I can that for sure. I thought that maybe the old belt might be wrong. Even when the tensioner is not engaged the pump runs fast enough to maove the tractor. Is that normal?

I would bet if you put a P/N 7473 Belt on it would work 5/8 x 82 thats what is on my C-165 Auto and my C-105 8 speed

I gotta go down to Pittsburgh tomorrow so I'll swing by Jack's Wheel Horse and pick up a belt. I'll take the one I bought and see how they compare. I don't feel like taking it off tonight, the Steeler games starting.

Thanks for all the help. Took the other belt back and got an 82" belt instead and works good.
