Belt tensioner spring for 42" RD deck

I have a 42" rear discharge deck and the belt tensioner spring broke. I think that when I reassembled the deck, after rebuilding the spindles, the spring touched the tensioner bar and fatigued. How strong must that spring be? Home Depot is nearby and they sell what looks and "feels" like a good replacement; but is the durability the same?

The Home depot springs list a safe working load in lbs the 32lbs one feels to weak?

Or drivr 25+ miles to the Wheel Horse dealer?
