DMK855 15 #4 Posted October 20, 2010 Thanks John!! Is that a spring along with the linkage going to the carb.??
wallfish 16,087 #5 Posted October 20, 2010 The spring comes from the bottom throttle lever up to the governor arm. A wire link connects the governor arm to the carb.
VinsRJ 721 #6 Posted October 21, 2010 Dwayne, just responded to your PM.... my RJ's throttle is hooked up a little differently. As far as I know and from the way it looks, I would say its never been messed with.
wallfish 16,087 #7 Posted October 21, 2010 Could you post some pics Vin? This was how I received the motor from Charlie with no other clear way to hook it up.
DMK855 15 #8 Posted October 21, 2010 Ditto with John!! Better to have more pics!! I was trying to get it hooked up, but my lever was flipped aroud different than what John had posted!?!?!?
VinsRJ 721 #9 Posted October 22, 2010 Here she is....... I've got two RJ's, one is a 58 (original 1200) and one is a 59 (original B1290), which both had this throttle linkage set up in the pic below. Specifically its a pic of my my 59 which was purchased from the original owner. IMO its was never messed with until I dismantled the tractor for a complete head to toe cleaning. As you will notice the lower "L" linkage is flipped over compared to both of yours. Next there is a cable clamp holding the cable to the lower bolt of the blower cover. Again IMO this set up makes sense since the throttle cable on a RJ comes in from the left when seated on the tractor. Attached Image
wallfish 16,087 #10 Posted October 22, 2010 Thanks Vince, that does make sense.
DMK855 15 #11 Posted October 22, 2010 Thanks Vince, that was the direction that mine was flipped. Also, explains why the cable clamp was on the lower bolt like yours!!
