Bonfires

Recommended Posts

Ok, It's about time that I admit that I am addicted to having HUGE bonfires. Its official. I have been hooked since '01 when I met my wife. My father in law owns 21 acres in Lino Lakes, Mn. and having big fires is a past time of ours. The below pics are from the latest blaze.

What I am looking for is some people who share my fascination of big fires and post them here on the forum. Here are some pictures of our latest on 10/09/2010. I hope you enjoy and for those who share this 'hobby' of mine with me, I hope you are able to post some pictures of your own also!

The begining:

Getting bigger:

And bigger:

And bigger than before:

And finally, when the fire has hit its peek:

This hits the top ten of the best fires I have ever had. Hope you enjoyed and can't wait to see some of yours!

It's not over yet Gerry. Start small and get bigger. My mom always warned the FD whenever my dad had a burning match. We once burned 6 locust trees in a pile which was started with 8 gallons of used motor oil. The flames were above the 80ft pines.

Haha! I think Charlie is right. Just start small and work your way up again. Eventually, with enough badgering, she will let you have another one.

Pumper.atv, did you feel the heat too? We had to stand pretty far back to prevent from getting cooked.

Well I'm not a "firebug" but this spring up at a campground that I'm a seasonal at I told my neighbor(father-in-law) that I would burn his old wicker furniture for him so he wouldnt have to haul it home to get rid of. I'm here to tell you that I had the biggest fire in the whole campground that night with flames getting at least 10' up. The wife and mother-in-law were not as impressed as I was and the rest of the furniture had to be busted up into smaller pieces.
