Howdy everyone,

I could sure use your help so we can move asap,I am sincerely hoping that some of you might be able to help us with this. As most everyone who has ever read one of my posts knows that my wife and I are going to move to the Chambersburg/Gettysburg PA area, the only thing is when???? ( Im sorry, I know that I am constantly and patheticly whining about it how long its taking :USA:) Well as I have said before, the only thing that is holding us up is getting a transfer to a Walmart out there. My wife Margo has been with them for 11 years so she wants to stay with them, she works in the office doing invoicing and she loves doing that, plus with that time in, she has earned nice benefits, pay etc. Her favorite subject in school was always math ......WIERD :) so this kind of job is right up her alley and she absolutely loves it.

Well heres the deal...Walmart does not list when a new store is opening in any given state, they just say that one is going to be built and they give a "Date to be announced" as to when. It would be a massive help if any of you that know of a new Walmart that is currently being built and or when construction is going to begin(even if they just broke ground today) in the area or within a hour drive of the general area of Chambersburg/Gettysburg (or possibly near Hagerstown MD, preferably PA though)could please give me a heads up we can contact new manager. Walmart only starts hiring employees for a new store once they break the ground, because that is when they hire the manager, then the manager starts the hiring process for the associates(employees). If I could get a heads up about any Walmart that is or due to get underway somewhere we can contact the manager and apply for that store in person. Its sso hard to do this when we live about 2000 miles away.

If you could help me with this, I will be forever in your debt. Actually with all the help I have recieved for my tractors I am already in the debt of a lot of folks :wh:

Thank you so much in advance,

John

Hey AzTrooper.

I live in Orrtanna,PA - 1/2 way between C-burg & G-burg.

Will keep my ears open- All the out lying towns pretty much have Wally worlds already. Waynesboro & Shippensburg being the newest ones in the last 2 years or so.

My wife tells me there is talk of a 2nd W-mart going in Hagerstown / Long Meadow area, where I-70 & Rt 40 meet.

Will let ya know if anything comes up :)

Chaz :USA:

Chaz is right. There are 2 super centers in Carlisle, 2 in Hanover, 1 in Shippensburg, 1 in Chambersburg, I don't get to Waynesboro but since it has one it surely couldn't support 2. Hagerstown though might support 2 centers so Chaz might have something there. Gettysburg's isn't a super center and there was talk of building one at one time but it never materialized yet!!

Chaz, thank you for the info and for keeping me in mind,I would really appreciate that.I used to go to the one in Chambersburg and the one in Gettysburg a lot when I lived out there.A friend of ours was going to transfer to the Auto Center at the one in Waynesboro but he ended up staying here for family reasons. The info Walmart gives says that they are planning another one in Chambersburg, and several more around the Gettysburg area but I havent been able to find out anything about them. When it comes down to it,were not too set on where the store is as long as we can live within that general area  Hagerstown would work great too. Im going to do some research and see what I can find out about the store that you wife heard about in the Hagerstown/Long Meadow area.Personally I would'nt mind living in the Altoona either but were trying for the Cburg/Gburg area first and formost because I love it there and she really liked it there when we drove out there last January so she could see what it was like. She has never been past Texas so it was a whole new world for her and she really loves it there thankfully :)

Thank you again for your response and for keeping me updated, I appreciate it!

John
