nylyon-(Admin) 7,880 #1 Posted October 13, 2010 Remember Max? Max is the little boy who was selling his Wheel Horse so he could purchase an ATV. Max is also battling cANCER, and if you've been following his story recently he's not doing well. Max has been turned down for an experimental treatment which may help save his life. His Facebook page shows the battle his family is going through to get him in the trial. Take a look, if you have any connections that may help call in that favor, know anyone in the media who can spread the word? Every little bit helps, as we found out last year! http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php...100000505696041 Max needs help again!

ChevelleSSLS6 0 #10 Posted October 26, 2010 In the Nov. 2010 issue of Popular Mechanics on page 69 they have an article on a new cancer treatment... 'curing cancer painlessly'. The names of the people who developed the treatment are Karen Brewer and Brenda Winkel of Virginia Tech, and Roger Dumoulin-White of Theralase Technologies. I'll let you guys take it from there to contact these people to see if you can get something lined up. It's still in the experimental stages and from what I gather from the article is a lot easier on the body (good cells) than traditional Chemo. Also look into 'natural' treatments... my aunt went all out organic foods and such and lived 10 years longer than the Doctors said she would've. I guess eating right really does help. I don't know much about the topic of what to eat as a cancer patient, I'm sure there's all sorts of good info out there. Prayer never hurts either.
nylyon-(Admin) 7,880 #11 Posted October 27, 2010 UPDATE: Max will be getting the experimental drug GDC=0449! Let's all hope that this drug proves successful for our little buddy and for the thousands of other kids who are suffering from this horrible condition. mavfreak 11 #12 Posted October 27, 2010 good my thoughts as well as my wife's are with him and his family. Good luck max! Side note does he know he's in the calender yet?
nylyon-(Admin) 7,880 #13 Posted October 27, 2010 His dad knows about the plan, but I don't think that he's seen the end result. I was hoping to get the PDF so I can print out a calendar, and send it plus a donation to Max soon.
mavfreak 11 #14 Posted October 27, 2010 I really think that will brighten his day. I made it this year also and I felt great pride and joy by seeing my tractor on there with so many great pictures sent in by others. I hope he feels the same.
