puddlejumper 67 #1 Posted October 10, 2010 Last weekend I picked up 2 400s (not much to look at) and this engine was in the deal. PO had got it to go on a 400 But as you can see the crankcase has no holes to mount belt guard or clutching fingers. Admittingly I was hoping the engine would date to a 55 or 56 model for an RJ 25. But according to the code numbers it is a 1959. Question.... did the variable speed rjs need engines with these mounting holes in the crankcase. And if not I quess I would like to purchase a tractor or sell an engine. Poured a cup to cup and a half of gas in it today, pulled rope twice and it ran for close to 30minutes untill it ran out of fuel. Having a 55-57 rj repowered with a 59 briggs wouldnt be too shameful would it?
