evan4434 0 #1 Posted August 30, 2010 I have a 416-8 that I want to put a 520H forward sweep front end on. Do all I need to do is buy the axle, or do I need other parts to make it fit like spindles or tire rod ends?
dodge78 90 #2 Posted August 30, 2010 I beleive they were the only common tractor with 1 inch spindles, so you would need spindles and rims to match. The holes for the tie rods are 1/2 inch, so you would probably need those too.
refracman 166 #3 Posted August 30, 2010 To convert over to the swept axel you will need everything, rims/ tires, spindles, axel, tierods, and the part from the tierods to fan gear. If your interested I have the complete setup, send me a pm or email.

SAM58 30 #5 Posted August 30, 2010 :) yes why?, I do know that the 520 H has a heavier front end.... The tie rod ends are a little weak on the 416...
TT-(Moderator) 1,129 #6 Posted August 30, 2010 Fitting the 60" mower deck and/or a front end loader are two good reasons for the swap too. RS member "Dual Wheels" (Norm) did the swap on his H, but I haven't seen him on here lately.
fireman 1,021 #7 Posted August 30, 2010 I put the entire forward swept front end setup on my C-81. Basically bolts right in. If you get the heavier steering box also, you will have to drill two extra holes. Does wonders for stability when you have a front end loader on.
Wheel Horse Fan 3 #8 Posted August 31, 2010 I will be doing this swap on my 416-8 very soon. I bought the axle, spindles, rims and tie rods. I also bought the gear reduction steering. I am doing the swap because I am putting an FEL on as well.
