Gene_S 93 #1 Posted August 22, 2010 Today the wife and I had to go to Big-R to get a piece of stove pipe to hook up a hot water heater. Two minutes before we got there a person pulled out in front of a beautifull Harley and the guy on the bike was killed. All we saw were a bunch of people standing around the guy with a blanket over him. This was one instance a helmet prabably would of made a difference! Coadster32 793 #2 Posted August 22, 2010 I wear one every where I ride my motorcycle/snowmobile. I dress for the slide, and enjoy the ride. You just never know. In Ct where I live, it's not a law, but IMO it should be. My father-in-law dumped four times in the last 8 years, never with a helmet on, (too cool for a harley guy I guess). He now has a handicap shield hanging from his rear-view mirror.

fireman 1,022 #4 Posted August 22, 2010 I wear my full face helmet along with an armored jacket and gloves. Like Coadster said here in CT drivers don't pay any attention :)
Gene_S 93 #5 Posted August 22, 2010 Guys I'm glad to hear that... I know in the majority of the states it's not the law and its a personal choice. I just can not get the image out of my mind and it makes me sick... The Envoy will need a new driver door and some work to the front fender and the guy died! Sure he must of smacked his head on the road... It's just to bad it had to happen. I really feel for the person driving the vehicle. Accidents happen, and happen real quick! We all need to take one day at a time because we may not be here tomorrow...

My best friend/ brother-in-law was killed 27 years ago on his 900 Kaw ,No helmet! Pa. legestation repeeled the long time helmet law a few years ago! A good thing? I don't think so! I guess they needed more organ donors!!! Think about that! Majority of cyclelist are young males w/ healthy organs to donate! Please wear a helmet and be safe out there! HORSEFEATHERS! VinsRJ 723 #9 Posted August 23, 2010 I always felt safer with my helmet. Would it save me in a big wreck, who knows, but I felt I could think better and enjoy the ride more.
