Original Bottom Paint

Recommended Posts

Recently I looked at two 48" WH decks, both in very good shape, sporting

an almost-robin blue paint job on their undersides. I believe I have seen at least one other WH deck in Red Square photos with this same blue paint. Question- Did WH finish some decks at the factory in this manner?

Does it look like New Holland blue? It could be off one of the 5xi NH's?

Cole's Dad-

Did the NH 5xi decks have tach-a-matic rigs? The units I'm talking about do.

Yes, the Blue New Holland 5xi Garden Tractors did have the Tack-a-matic hook ups, as they are made by TORO for the New Holland Company, there were on a basic but beefed-up Wheel Horse frame (even some of the NH parts had Red Paint under the Blue paint).

On the NH models a couple years ago, you could even place a new Blue New Holland Deck under the older Wheel Horse tractors . . . the NH Blue decks are a heavier-duty, thicker metal, kinda squarish corners, and much heavier than a regular red WH 48" deck and NH will most likely last a long long time, but at $1,000 for a new deck, ouch! Not sure if TORO repainted over the blue, or if the new owners did.

Thats the second time I have heard Toro built NH parts or mowers , and whats ironic is my buddy has a NH and we were price checking , I called the local Toro dealer , he said Toro never built anything for NH :USA: :)
