JUSS10 250 #2 Posted August 2, 2010 looks to be a suburban but i'm not well versed in the models, but i can guarantee someone will chime in with more info soon
C-Series14 15 #3 Posted August 2, 2010 Don't know much about the old ones but ain't skeered to guess...well, it's not a guess, it is a 1960-1961 Suburban. Engine doesn't look original. Other folks will chime in with better info.
clintonnut 126 #4 Posted August 2, 2010 Looks like a 1960 Suburban 400 or 550. Not the original engine. The hood has been raised up to clear. If it was a 400 it should have a Kohler K90 or K91 (Not sure) and if it is a 550 it should have a Lausen H55D. The 400 was a pull start the 550 was electric start. You can usually tell the model of yours if you look to see if there was a battery in the tool box or 2 holes on the front of the fender tool box for a solenoid. tgranthamfd 28 #11 Posted August 4, 2010 Can you get a good picture of the throttle and choke area? If the hood is original it could help distinguish between the 60 and 61 models. also a shot under the hood, in front of the engine, or even a close up of the rear of the transmission could help out in between the 2 1961 models.
