ASPHALT DRIVEWAY

:thumbs: Hey Tickster man- I know you are out rolling over things somewhere-but I need your advise-What is a fair price to pay for having my driveway Asphalted-you saw it-it's about 12' x 30'-it has had stone on it for years-that should make a good base , I hope. Can a guy save anything on doing the prep work himself? I would really apreciate any help/advice you can give me. Thanks-Al :thumbs:

Al my expertise comes in operateing the roller ...or the paver in a pinch.

I'm pretty far removed from the grade crews & setting grades before the asphalt comes along.

Are you looking for 1 lift or base & surface?

Alot of times with drive ways you need to cut them down enough where you have 3" to 4" of exposure along the street aproach & your garage tie in with a smooth transition between the two points.

In othere words you don't want to cut away your stone for a tie in at the aproach & garage & have a big hump in the middle.

I'm not involved in any of the priceing either so can't help you there.

Best bet is to get on the phone with some of the local companies that do driveway work.

Yep I'm going to be hurting the first week back.

When I'm out in the shop I don't really keep track of time though.
