BPjunk 184 #1 Posted July 28, 2010 Ya' know that removing a steering wheel that is rusted to the shaft of a Wheel Horse jus' ain't no fun. My 1961 model 701 was that way so I took the steering wheel and shaft down to work and put it in a Dake 100 ton shop press ...... that steering wheel came right off with 7 tons of pressure showing on the pressure gauge. Today I needed to remove a steering wheel from a rust bucket of a Wheel Horse so it was done with the same procedure ...... EXCEPT it took 20 tons to remove the rusted shaft !!! You shoulda' heard the bang when it let go ! Wild Bill
