OK, I'll probably get laughed off the forum for my ignorance, but I don't think I've ever seen fenders like that on a Wheel Horse before. :D

Other than that, darnedifino!

I'm goin to say a 400. Just because of the belt guard is for a 400. Beyond that the hood, well, modified. Fenders look like a set for a small trailer. Mike

Looks like it may have been a Suburban. The front axle says Suburban. As for the hood looks like it may have been off of a newer Round Hood!! They filled in the part that would be cut out to go around the tank. :D:thumbs:

A lot of time modifying for sure!!! :D

1960 was 400 and 550

1961 was a 401, 551, and 701

Fast way to tell is by the front axle...

Straight steel=1959 or older

Cast upswept axle=1960-1961 400, 550, 401, 551

701 had a cast axle swept down though!!! And the engine was towards the front....

The tranny says 1960 the latest. The front axle leads onto be a suburban, 1960 the earliest. The hood says 1962 the earliest, and the rest, well....

I have a hood and gas tank for a 400. The hood had been cut at one time and welded back together. If you are interested, let me know and I will send you some pics. Shoot me a pm!
