Hello all, sorry for the delay in the post. The date will be Sept 26th at Dufresne Park in Granby, MA. It is located at the intersection of Kendall St. and State St. which is also RT. 202.

We will be pulling both lawn and garden as well as farm tractors. I'm really looking forward to this for so many reasons. It will be a great time.

The type of pull will be stone boat style. Nothing really mandatory other than you have a fun and safe time. Tractors that are properly set to pull can pull from the regulation length chain. Stock machines will be from an extended chain for safety reasons.

There will be a spot to show your tractors too if thats all you want to do.

Thanks again everyone for all of your support.

Jack

Guys,

Here is a little more on the info. The pull/show will start at 9am and conclude in the afternoon when we either run out of weight or the last machine stalls out.

We are going to have raffles, a 50/50 raffle, baked goods and beverages available. Along with the baked goods, I'm looking at getting a food vendor to come and offer some other concessions. If anyone has any suggestions, please shot out.

Prizes will be awarded for best in show, best original restoration, most weight pulled and a few other classes we are exploring. The type of award is something I'm working on right now.

I want to do this and do it up right. The raffle prizes will be gift cards to some of our local merchants such Tractor Supply Company, Fuel Cards from Shell, Exxon/Mobil, and Super Stop and Shop. There will also be other items donated by local businesses.

Thank you again for those who plan to attend and to also those who can not but have helped out in other ways. The people here at Red Square are some of the most generous, loving and caring people I've met in my life. I'm greatful to all of you.

Best,

Jack

Hey Jack,

I'll be at the Dover nascar race that day. I'd be willing to contribute a gas-card for a prize though. Just PM me on the amount you might be thinking of, and where to send it. Hope the day goes well for the event. Chris.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss, Jack. God always seems to always take the "good ones" way to early sometimes.

I am considering coming to the pull. I wasn't able to attend the WHCC this year because I got married the week before and the dates were too close. I put Granby into Mapquest and it's a ten hour trip from here. If I were to make the drive, I would have to make a weekend out of it. What other attractions are in close proximity to the Pull? I'd be interested in seeing some historic sites and/or old battle grounds. How much further to the coast is it? Also, is there campsites available?

Just want to update the board here. Support is pouring in from all over. We've got some real nice prizes up for the raffles, and the list of people looking to attend is growing.

If anyone is looking for accomodations or has any specific questions, please PM or email me, I will help you out as much as I can.

As far as the pull goes for those who plan on pulling or would like to try, we use a stone boat and load it up till we can't pull it anymore. Stock and modified machines are welcome, we can accomodate both. Those who plan on pulling a "garage" stock machine with no wheelie bars can pull too. We just lengthen the chain and that changes the center of gravity and that will help keep your pull safe and fun.

This pull does run up against a couple of other local events but from the response, it looks as though there will be a good turn out.

Jack...just saw this. I am very sorry for your loss. Is there a way to make a donation for those of us that would like to help, but live to far to make the pull?

Prayers with you and yours.

Steve,

Here is an address where something can be sent.

in lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations in his memory be made to the Kevin Arcouette Family, c/o CT State Employee Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 409 Somersville, CT 06072-0409.

My brother and I have a way about us and that was to never take something for nothing and when someone does good by you, accecpt it so as you don't take the good out of it. This is why I thought an event such as this would fit the bill. An easy way for a buch of us to come together, have a good time and at the same time accomplish a good deed.

Thanks,

Jack

Thanks Jack...I feel the same way as you, but if you know me, you know I think of RS as family...highs and lows. I know we can't fix things, but I hope it is nice to know you have a lot of friends out there, and all you have to do is ask....you may not even have to ask. :)

Thanks for the support guys. The date is rapidly approaching. The park is set and I've got acres of room there for this event. It's going to be nothing less than spectacular and that is due to all of the people who come to participate and make this a fantastic day.

The amount of prizes being donated by the local businesses are mind blowing. I knew there was good out there, I just never knew how much there really was. I'm proud to be a member of this group and proud to call many of you my friends. It's an honor and a privilage.

Thank you all and I look forward to seeing as many of you that can make it.

My best,

Jack

Just received an official word from one of the local pulling organizations here in Western MA. Western Mass Tractor Pullers has cancelled the second day of their two day pull event so that they can attend the benefit on the 26th.

There will definatly be a lot of nice tractors as to look at and watch pull after hearing this news. We've also secured a couple of food vendors for the event as well so no worries about finding a place to eat.

The days are counting down look forward to seeing all that can attend. I will post more as the date closes near.

Okay group, here is the rundown. The show is at Dufresne Park in Granby. Dufresne Park is located at the corner of Route 202 (East State St. Granby, MA and Kendall St.) The entrance it down the road about a quarter mile on the right. Signs will be posted.

There are several really cool raffle prizes available as well as a 50/50 raffle that will be held at 1pm.

Food will be available at a very reasonable cost from the Granby Lions Club. They are cooking burgers and hot dogs and will have beverages and chips. We are selling donuts, coffee and bottled water.

All types of cars, trucks, farm tractors and lawn and garden tractors are welcome. Tractor owners can both show and pull if they choose. The pull will be conducted by me and we will be using a stone boat. Any type of tractor will be accecptable we can accomodate stock tractors and pulling tractors. Depending on the time left, trucks will also be invited to hook to the boat if they want. We will start shortly after 9am with farm tractors and depending on the turn ont of lawn and garden tractors, we will give the farm class a break around 11am and will start with the garden tractor class.

When you arrive, there will be someone at the entrance of the park to let you know where to and where the respective events will be taking place. I will post a map of the park tomorrow evening with the details as well. When you come in, there will be a travel trailer set up by the park pavilion. Come on over, get registered with what you have brought as we will be having judges coming around and looking at your machines. Prizes will be awarded for the winning participants.

If anyone is looking to arrive a day ahead, let me know and I can recommend a hotel or, if you would like, I could arrange a camp site as well.
