Benefit pull and show Granby, MA

Recommended Posts

Rideawaysenior

Hey Red Square crew. Last week, my brother of 33 years passed away due to injuries received in a motorcycle accident. He being so young never thought he would need a life insurance policy and only has a survivor death benefit from the CT Dept. of Corrections where he was employed as a corrections officer for 10 years.

I'm looking to put on a benefit pull and tractor show towards the end or August or early September to help raise some money for his kids. He has a three year old son and a 10 month old daughter that really need some help. I would only ask for an entry fee be donated to a trust that I'm setting up for them.

This pull will be a fun pull only with a stone boat sled, hook and pull till you can't pull any more and even after that if you want to try again go ahead. You all are a great group of people who are beyond generous. I hate to even ask you guys for this but I know that those who can will show and we all can have a good time.

A couple of you are on my facebook page (John Arcouette) and are also on my brothers memorial page. His name was Kevin Arcouette. The news article and obit are listed if you google his last name so you can see that this is a legit benefit.

The pull will be in Granby, MA and be hosted by me and my good friend Mike Martel who goes by MRM here on Red Square.

Again, those who think that they may be able to attend please let me know. I've done as much as I can do physically and financially for these kids and as much as I hate ask for it, come to the pull, donate a small entry fee help someone in need and have a great time with your friends from Red Square and also make some new ones.

Forgot to add, we will be hosting both garden and farm tractors, so bring what you have. One donation will cover what you bring to pull with.

Jack (John Arcouette) AKA Rideawaysenior

Do you pull on asphalt or dirt, just checking to see what set up to put on the tractors

Sounds like a great time

I too, have you and your family in my prayers, in your time of loss.

God Bless America

The pull will be on a clay track. We use stone boats however I am working on trying to get a transfer sled here for the bigger machines. We will also host a show for those that would like to attend and not pull. I appreciate the replies I'm getting.

I'm going to try to set a solid date in the next week with enough advance notice to hopefully give you all enough time to plan it if you can attend.

My thanks to you all,

Jack AKA Rideawaysenior

Jack, sorry I didn't read this earlier and of coarse you loss.

How much is the entry fee going to be?

I will see if I can round up some "entries" from Iowa.

Can't promise anything but, am willing to try.

Kids in need pull hard on my heart.

Any one else willing to do this?

Jack, Sorry for your loss. For those who haven't been to Granby yet, it is a great place to have a pull. Even showing up and not pulling would be great. We can still donate or contribute while there.

I too am sorry for you and your family's loss. I did not read the post earlier, but I just want to wish you luck with putting together the pull.

I can't be there due to the distance, but if there is an address when a monetary contribution can be sent, please let me know.

Jack,

So sorry for your loss. The Harrison family will keep you and the family in our prayers.

Will not be able to come due to a huge toy show around that time. However, as previous mentioned would like to send a donation. Please advise where we can send a donation.

Thanks

Hello Crew,

Thank you for all of your replies and support. At the bottom of this post, there will be an internet link that has my brothers obituary information and the charity that has been set up in his memory for his children. My nephew is very close to me and even at three has become very attached. He knows the magnitude of the recent events however is still having difficulty processing everything that went on over the past few weeks. My neice who is now 11 months old was baptized on Sunday. Being there with my brothers family was nice but there was certainly an emptiness.

I'm humbled by the replies I am getting. The support is beyond what I anticipated. It feels good every time I do something that helps someone, I do what I can. I however never thought that I would be asking for anything from anyone as my modus operandi is to take care of things. This however is something that is way beyond me and even the strong need to be humbled by the generosity of others. Guys, today I am humbled. My friends from all circles of my life, my family at work, my family here at Red Square, and my family at church have taught me a valuable lesson today.

Thank you all and as promised, here is the link with the address for any contributions you can make. You are all amazing people.

Jack

Will there be a show area?

There's plenty of room around the track. The grounds are big also. I don't plan on pulling, but will contribute as if I were.

Amen on that, and all for a great cause.

Jack, I am truly sorry for your loss, my friend. I've been away from the site for a few days and am just now getting caught up.

I'll be there, with or without a tractor, to make a contribution.

Deepest regrets,

~Duff

Jack -- I'm sorry for your tragic loss, and hope to be able to make the benefit pull to help support your brothers family. I have witnessed first hand the true generosity that resides within this forum and it is nothing short of amazing. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help promote this event for you.

Karl
