Oppppps .... a bad day at the factory ?

While in South Bend the other week we went to the Studebaker National Museum to see one of the cars that a relative of mine restored and to find some of the Wheel Horse tractors that are hidden there. (when Wheel Horse moved from South Bend to Minnesota they did not take the tractors that were in the factory museum and the Studebaker National Museum took them over) Well the curator would not let me see the Wheel Horses that are in the basement but I did get to see the 1969 model Workhorse 700 that was displayed on the second floor. The Workhorse was really nice and super clean BUT what happend to the stripe decal on the hood the day the tractor was run down the assembly line ??? If you will notice the stripe goes clean off to the left up by the ornament. Maybe the person installing the decals had a bad day. Like I have always said "Wheel Horses were a assembly line product, a tractor that gets built in the morning may not use the same parts as one built in the afternoon.

That stripe was definitely put on Monday morning or Friday afternoon .

And what do you mean they wouldnt let ya see the basement tractors Bill??? Were'nt ya wearing your signature white pants and red WH shirt??

Here is another picture of the 1969 model Workhorse 700 that is in the Studebaker National Museum. It is a shame that the only peice that is missing on this tractor is one of the front RED Wheel Horse spindle caps, this why the tractor has the right side up against the wall.
