Good people here on RS !!

I just wanted to share a short story for all the members especially those who are newer to the forum. I posted a thread looking for a dash panel for my Comando 8 as the current one has both choke and throttle cables frozen inside and i could not remove them. JoeBob reached out to me quickly and offered a replacement for me. When I asked how much he would not respond. We confirmed the shipping information and said he is sending it out (I still have no idea how much he wanted). I asked again and he simply said that he did not want any money for it and that maybe someday we would cross paths and I may be able to return the favor. He would not even take money to ship it :D

I realize this is not a big dollar item however there is value in it as well as the time and effort to help out another RS member. Many people would have not taken the time to dig out the part then make sure it was the correct one with a picture and then actually ship it.

I just wanted those who are newer to understand what makes this a great site and more importantly publically thank JoeBob for his help

Great story Steve. If only some other members on the forum were not so wrapped up in themselves, we would have a lot more of this.:D to you JoeBob.

Great story, Steve. There alot of great people here on Redsquare who are willing to help other members when problems arise or when parts are needed. Not to steal anyones thread or to take anything away from JoeBob, I had problems at the show with my 854 blowin' the spark plug out of the head due to bad threads in the head. Brian (buckrancher) came to me and said lets fix it tonight. Well next thing you know Bob Maynard was there with his tool box and flashlight providing Brian and I with inspiration until we broke a head bolt off in the block. Brian volunteered saying if I pulled the engine he would take it back to New York with him and take care of the problem for me at the machine shop where he works. Well low and behold last Friday rolled around and in my e-mail were these pictures of the terrific job he did with the engine. Talked to him on the phone and he mentioned the thottle shaft had play in it and would rebush it for me before he brought it back to Pa.. Talk about a great guy. :D Thank You Brian, I won't forget it. Here's two of the pics he sent me.

Bob, there are so many people on this forum that are class acts, JoeBob, yourself, and Brian, just to name a few. :D The wealth of talent and knowledge here is simply unbelievable. :D I know there are times where egos clash and sometimes people just simply cannot play nice together but all in all we seem to overcome. I myself have learned alot from this place throughout the years and have met alot of good and helpful people along the way.
