Well between welding and making a 1/4 plate to sandwhich the original plate to the transmission, these ideas seem to work fine.

Here is how I fixed mine.

http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?...l=b-100+project

Scroll down about half way to view pictures.

I had the cracks opened to a V shape, then welded and ground down.

I added a 1/4 steel plate to the back. You will need to get 1/4" longer bolts when you reattach the tranny.

If you search RedSquare, there are other posts on how others fixed theirs, but for the most part, this is the fix.

Good luck.

Bob

I debated adding a plate to mine, but I didn't.

I just repaired them like I have repaired cracks in metal over the years.

Find the end of the crack, center punch, drill a hole to stop the crack.

Clean the area up, grind a small trench, turn the welder up and weld.
