Welders what size bottle is this?

Recommended Posts

Butch

I'm getting closer to getting that 211. Hope to have it by the end of the month.

Anyway, I need to get a bottle for it. I like the size of the bottle that is on the back of this cart. Can anyone tell what size it is? I'm assuming this bottle should be plenty big enough for the welding I'll be doing.

This is the setup I'm looking to buy. Plus Miller has a pak that includes gloves, helmet and jacket.

Thanks.

I would get at least the next bigger size bottlle. Less trips to the welding store.

What's the next largest size and will it fit on the cart?

I cannot remember the size of mine but its just like that one. I use Argon mix and its a lot cheaper to fill the larger tank in the long run..and yes they run out pretty quick so I would go with the larger ones..I don't do a lot of welding any more since I mostly got out of the body shop business..

If you get your gas from a place like TSC they use a numbering system.. thats a #2 bottle ... I run a #4... bit spendy to buy but I almost never have to have it refilled.

I have two bottles for my welder, they stand about 4' tall one from the welding supply and one from TSC, the TSC tank is a bit smaller not much, they cost here about $50 to fill them, TSC is nice they are open later and weekends, just take yours in and exchange them, use the argon C02 mix for most all welding, straight argon is mainly for alum. welding. buy the bigger tank, cost more in the begining, but the small tanks cost about $25/30 to fill and are about 1/4 the size of the bigger tank.

It looks like it is a 20lb CO2.

A "Q" size 72/25 is 88 cubic feet and an "S" size is 154 cubic feet. You will want to run about 15 cubic feet per hr or CFH.

We sell a full Q for 168.00 and an S is 205.00

There is a sale flyer that will be starting April 15th and if I can remember to look I will see how much the 211 is going to be on sale for.

big mike looking at the link for the size chart above they don't even list a Q or an S!! I'm starting to think maybe each state or store has their own sizes!! :omg: But if your price includes ownership of the tank and the gas that's a very good price.
