RJ35?

Recommended Posts

I live in the UK and would be grateful if anyone out there could put me

in touch with someone who could supply spares or ideally a

parts/workshop manual. My tractor looks very much like the one shown in

the photo album of MarkEdMitch (1955 RE35), although mine is fitted

with rear mudguards (fenders). All I know is the tractor is an

early/mid 60's model, I remember the decals on the side of the bonnet

(hood) read Suburban Wheelhorse and I think it was originally fitted

with a Kohler 4hp engine, I replaced this with a Techemseh 5hp. I have

owned the tractor for about 30 years, but sadly it is now very derelict

as I have left it stored in the open with a tarpulin cover that has

long since disintegrated. I am now very keen to restore the tractor to

it's original state but there are several parts required ie; even the

seat and wheels are rusted through so I'm sure that several parts will

need replacing. The mower deck has survived quite well but the drive

shafts to the blades are seized etc. Out of interest I also have a

front mounted blade and a single furrow plough (plow).

I can email some photos on to anyone that might be interested.

Regards - Mike Pitt

Mike  I can't help with your parts, but there are several members here from the UK who may be able to point you in a local direction. Again welcome, and if you get a chance please post the pictures of your tractor.

Mike,

Glad to see you took my "advice" to join in!

Sounds like you might have a 1960 400 or a 1961 401 Suburban model, and with photos, we could positively identify your tractor.

Look around the tractor photo album at this site and see if either of those two models look familliar to you.

Once it's identified, we'll get you in touch with the correct manual.

Hi Mike, where abouts in the UK are you? We've got members from all over, I'm in Hampshire.

I have no idea where you'd get spares for a tractor that old in this country, you've got a pretty rare beast for over here.
