Just a good carb cleaning and some new paint in the future and we will be back in business. Just picked this up last night. Thanks to Steve (wh500special) I was able to get a little bit of background on this. Interesting design to say the least. The crank in the middle of the handle lowers and lifts the entire deck.........no need to bend over and adjust each wheel for the desired height. The bagger is also hard plastic. Goofy looking thing but I love it none the less.

Well Mike you are right...........I might actually have to do some work if I want to use it. Dang those seats were feeling pretty comfortable too!

I am hoping to give it a little freshen up and have it as a different show piece that I can stand around and have some interesting conversations with.

Funny story...........was out mowing with my walk behind Lawn Boy last year and father in law couldn't understand why I was push mowing when I had plenty of tractors to do the job. :omg:

Will have to sit on the back burner for a while.....but it will get it's moment in glory in the future.

Heavy sucker isn't it? Rolls easy though. How you liking the little horsehead hubcaps?

The plastic bagger is actually a neat piece of engineering. It is totally enclosed so nothing leaks or spews out the back when you're mowing. There is a return air duct inside the thing that vents the air back into the deck making a semi-closed loop system.

I haven't checked yet for mine, but you should be able to get replacement parts from McLane since they still make what is essentially the same mower for their own brand.

The earlier Reo type units are an interesting beast too. I have one of those as well, but it is missing a few pieces from the electric start system. This newer version Vac mower is lightyears ahead of the old Reos.

Now, you need to be on the lookout for one of these:

It is a pretty stout little unit. I was impressed with how easily it rolled. I am liking it more each time I look at it. The little horse head hubcaps are definitely a nice little touch to it.

As I was inspecting the plastic bagger I was impressed. I am guessing that would create a good amount of suction to pick up leaves, pine cones, etc.....

I will be looking for all three of those now! Actually have passed up on a snowblower a couple of times but will be looking for another. I know of where a couple are. Now the tiller is going to be a race...........I am sure you will get to one before me!

Scott's mower is probably an '86/'87.

If you mean the reel mower pictured, that's a '67.

Thanks guys it is pretty cool to say the least. Yeah Gene it has some small hubcaps on it. Really sets it off.

There are some things broken on it but I believe I can still get all the parts I need from MacLane. :omg:
