ID tag on a 1962?

Is there a id tag? i picked up this tractor it looks like a 62 552. There is no belt guard, engine or hood. I dont see a tag on the frame. Thank you

My 702 has a stick on decal on lower dash tower with #,Rick

Post apicture I'm sure we can get you very close on a model and a year get the front of the tractor both sides and the dash area.

There is no ID tag as such, but there should be a serial # on the shift decal:

The bad news is that this wont help much in identifying the model.

As Kelly said, post some pictures and we should be able to work it out.

It's a 1962 for sure, I'm guessing a 702 or 552 both being elect. start, and this has the starter button.

You might be able to tell whether it was a 552 or 702 by the marks on the frame where the motor was bolted down.

The Kohler had a cast iron oil pan bolted directly to the frame, whereas the Tecumseh was mounted on a riser plate.

Or maybe there's enough of the wiring left to tell?

Doesnt matter really, they were the same tractor with different motors.

From the picture posted the Wheel Horse in question appears to be a model 702. Look to see if there is a wire coming from the battery to the ignition switch. If so it is a 702 as a 552 will just a wire that will be a short to ground.
