Got charged double what it costs to ship the book.. *sigh* I love the book, dislike the shipping charges.. if they wanted another 8 bucks...Raise the price of the book and charge me the 8 that it cost you to ship the darn thing... CasualObserver 3,410 #27 Posted October 13, 2008 Just a month or two ago I sold the axles, gears and bearings out of a 4 speed. It all fit in one of the smaller flat rate boxes like a puzzle, and weighed about 50 lbs when I taped it shut. Mailed out for the low, low price of $9.80. The postal worker joked about getting my money's worth. You don't always have to rely on the post office either. Sometimes you can find small local air freight type carriers that can be much cheaper. I sometimes use Spee Dee Delivery. (they're only up here in the northern midwest. I shipped a K-90 to a friend for $12.00... delivered to his door. I had to drop it at their counter here though. jerrell 1 #29 Posted October 13, 2008 a few weeks ago i wrote a post telling about a person that sells a lot on ebay, he told me that he had a friend that bid on his items to run the price up, he said he had to eat a few items but overall he made money . he just relisted the items and started all over again... i told him what i thought of him and that i would never do any business with him and if i could find out his ebay name (which he wouldn't say) and his friends i would alert ebay of what they were doing. As far as freight gos, i just bought a new honda engine from small engine warehouse and they charged me 114.00 to ship from In. to AR. about 550 miles, weight 160 lbs, when it arrive the man called me to say he was on the way and i told him that i would have a friend come over to help unload it....he said no way that he could put it anywhere i wanted it. i said it weighs 160 lbs . when he got here he pushed it on the tailgate of his truck , loaded on a small pallet, and i tried to pick it up, I DID, not a 160 lbs, less than a 100, \ so what can you do, i did't buy it thru ebay so can't complain thru them, just eat it and pay more attention the next time.. in the past 2 months i have bought over 20 items from ebay and the shipping on some of them costs more than the item i bid on.....but if i want something i have to get it shipped in.. i will try our forum from now on before i go ebay.. i sorta wish we had a space where we coudl list the items, prices and approxmate shipping, i would trust wh owners more than those other people...jerry Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
