sscotsman 186 #5 Posted January 11, 2010 Don, wow, im surprised you havent recieved a lot of Lake Effect snow off of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay.. Western NY is absolutely buried! Lakes Erie and Ontario have been dumping snow on us for 2 weeks straight now.. We have 2 feet on the ground in Rochester.. Is Georgian bay perhaps frozen over already? that is the only thing I can think of that would prevent the lake effect for you. im looking at a map, and you should be directly in-line! strange.. popwheelie 0 #8 Posted January 12, 2010 Don, I'm in Orangeville too and have been doing the equivalent to a rain dance for some snow!!! So if you see a crazy guy bouncing around and waving his arms in the air, that just might be me!! Hope it bgings us the snow that we deserve!! Stu
popwheelie 0 #9 Posted January 12, 2010 Walked away from the computer and thought that maybe I should appologize for what I have said! I mean no disrespect to the native population for my comments about the reference to a rain dance, I should have used diffenent wording. If any offence was taken, I am sorry. Just wanted to get my point across regarding more snow. Stu

hotrodmerc 1 #17 Posted February 1, 2010 Weather reports said we were going to get a dusting on Sat. We got around 8" I tried the B-80 that I purchased in Jan. I am going to work on the appearance in the spring. Without the aid of wheel weights or chains it done quite a good job. I was very impressed.

perry 82 #21 Posted February 6, 2010 well still NO snow and none this weekend none here in southern MI either . all this talk about the storm this week in the south I'm having seat time withdrawls. looks like its going to miss us again. besides a few 1" snow falls we have had , the only seat time I've been getting is hauling a few loads of wood to the shop/house. heck the 5 gallons of gas i have is probably gonna go bad. i usually burn threw quite a bit of gas in the winter with hours of plowing. I'm ready for spring now. so much for living in Michigan "the winter wonderland" . oh'well, here's some bored winter pics .
Redbird 1 #22 Posted February 6, 2010 I REALLY wanted some snow, since we don't usually get more than about 6" here in MD. Weeeelllllllllllllll.......we've got it now!!!! I'm originally from the Northeast so big storms are nothing new to me. Guess I forgot what it's like to shovel it tho. LOL David works for the stste highway and has been out since 6am yesterday. I probably won't see him til tomorrow or Monday. We had "thunder snow" all night.....thunder while it was snowing! It's been coming down at the rate of 2" per hour. And they're predicting 28"-30" by the time it tapers off tonight. I can't find my horses. They're tarped up, but under a 4' snow drift, which is chest high on me. And, the one horse, with the plow that I can get to, isn't going to do the job for me because the snow's wet and heave AND 115 lbs just isn't enough ass even with chains and weights!!!!! You know the old saying.....Be careful what you wish for! Sorry no pics right now. The wind has been steady and gusting to 40 MPH. Having had my back fused 5 yrs ago, I just wish someone could get in here and clear at least the driveway for me. The snow's drifted up to the top of the back bumper on David's Toyota Tachoma 4WD pickup. I still have to try to go to work later today and get things ready for tomorrow....including braiding breads for 2 3' subs at SUBWAY Will keep you posted. LOL
