Hi friends , well with spring nearly here got down to a real tidy up in workshop, have been working on a 1971 cooperS some of the winter, so have pushed that to one side and will start on it again in october , so order of projects is wheelhorse rebuilt including making a johhny dump etc , then have a bolens that needs work, and in between want to finnish the trike l started end of last summer and granson is pushing me to finnish a scratch built remote control tank, but apart from making the tracks and a bit more to do on the gun its nearly there, never a dull time lol.

Wes,

I hear ya. I have more projects, more things to do, than I have time. I'm thinking about building a bigger shed, or shop, or whatever you or I want to call it. I have some siding that needs to be done. This weekend I need to finish the master bathroom that I started last weekend. I need to redo the kitchen cabinets. I have a couple of acres that I really need to start clearing. So, I hear ya.

BTW, this is my 1500th post. No wonder I'm hoarse today.

Wes that pic of your shop you shared with us here on Red Square looks like your more than capeable to handle those projects.

I know I'd like to see some pics of the projects you mentioned?

Now are you following in Ian's steps an makeing your rideing reel mower into a custom trike..LOL

Or makeing one from scratch minus the mowing lineage?

The Tank & CooperS sound interesteing too!

Morning Wes, so many projects and so little time eh.... i know that feeling well

I like the remote control tank idea, can you make tracks er.. wheel Horse size? :D

Here's a couple of photos of Wes's trike project folks, its not a wooden chassis but a mock up for a steel chassis.

Nice work Wes, think im going to have to head over and have a look for myself

Oh man I see so many cool tools when we get glimpses of Wes's shop.

I think I'm haveing shop envy.....

Wes is it going to be a trike...or a real short two wheeler...

I know it's still in the mock up but I had to say it.

Looks like a pretty beefy engine/trans setup......whats it out of?

Thanks for the pics, Ian. That mock-up says as much about the man and his thought processes as it does about the project. Looks like someone who would have been very comfortable hanging out with the likes of Colin Chapman or Jack Brabham.

Nice, cozy shop. I am a bit concerned about the "stuff" piled on the surface plate, though :thumbs:

Dont worry greg the plate is my old one , yes am happy to show you more piccys as long as lan dont mind putting them up, me an putors dont get on that well lol, the trike will have three wheels and three seats, then engine started life as a 1275cc engine out of a MG metro, have rebuilt that and its now 1340cc, for the front end l will use harley fork yokes with home made leading link fork set up, fuel tank out of an mgb will go under the rear seats and the tear drop fuel tank will be a dummy but will hold the gauges etc, that is about as far as the mind has got on that project, wil go and find some piccys , thanks for the intrest.

Flying and/or floating WH's are out Mike, i dont do both too well :P

A Wheel Horse that turns into a Mustang would be cool :P:P

But that may be stretching the realms of possibility a bit far :D

Wes the tank looks pretty nifty...working suspension on the boggies & all.

Did you build the tub & top deck all from metal?

The Cooper looks like it will be a fun ride too.

I used to have an MG Midget "chrome bumpers" & it was a blast till a jacked up 4X4 truck decided to share my lane & I lost.

Always liked the Triumphs & MG's...I have only seen a handfull of the Coopers over here though.

Sometime I hope to see one...get a chance to look it over good.

Wes,

My highest respects and a tip of the hat to you. The forethought, pride and craftsmanship really show. Hell, even your drill press is pretty!

Stephen, you are located well to take in a SCCA vintage race. You will find some of these Coopers there.

Greg the only ones I have seen have either been on TV & well there was this one time when I was younger.

I tried to race one in the parents Ford Escort  & was smoked!

The SCCA vintage raceing sounds interesting...I'll have to do some searching.

Greg I agree with your comments on Wes's shop....he must have built it yesterday since there is no dust or spider webs in the corners...

Nice, erm, EVERYTHING there Wes

I guess with fancy clean projects you need to keep the shop clean.

Are you doing the electronics for the tank yourself too, or following directions? I'm wondering how you are setting up the control for the track motors?

YES mith will do it myselve, a couple of servos and a remote control hand set, apart from rebores , all my projects get done in house , if l mess up just do it again till its right, learnt a long time ago getting bits done costs , getting old machines and doing them up is cheap and learing how to use them is great , but then l am mad lol.
