WHC-125 4 #1 Posted December 12, 2009 I hurt my left arm pretty bad at school in shop and cant use it for 6 to 8 weeks because I went to open the outside door in shop and my arms went through the glass and cut my left arm really bad to the point were you can see the bone and I cut the tendons that you use to move our fingers with and I had to go into surgery for 3 and a half hours. fireman 1,022 #8 Posted December 12, 2009 We'll like they say: If your going to do something, go big or go home! I guess you did both Get well soon. Take a little advice from someone who knows. When you go for physical therapy make sure you do what they say. You don't want to lose any dexterity, strength or range of motion! You'll regret it later on in life. Been there, done that, and got the T-shirt! Jeff

rmaynard 16,293 #15 Posted December 12, 2009 You know, glass doors in a school building are not supposed to break like that. Make sure someone looks into any code violation. All door glass in a public building is supposed to be tempered so that it breaks into pebbles. Having said that, best wishes for a speedy recovery. Follow what's been said about rehab. It really works.

Duff 206 #21 Posted December 13, 2009 Chris, Sandy and I are praying for a quick and complete recovery for you. Like the guys said, pay close attention to the physical therapy when the time comes, and do raise h*ll with the school system for having what are probably non-code doors. Can't change what you're going through but it could save someone else in the future! Best wishes always, Duff :notworthy:

bmuone 15 #24 Posted December 13, 2009 Sorry bout your accident Chris. Sounds as though it could have been worse. Did someone step up and help you out at the scene? All that safety education in that shop class and the dog gone door lowers the boom. Shows how fast stuff happens in this ole world. Follow those words of advice above and especially the Dr's orders and you'll do ok. Hope all your tractors have electric start!
