can whlvr 994 #1 Posted December 12, 2009 well we new it was gonna come, but here in southern ontario we have been getting snow for 3 days now,got to use the st4201 blower,it worked great but i can sure see why you guys have cabs,i have had a plow for over 20 years, had a toro walk behind with the joystick chute control, very nice because you can aim the snow exactly where you want it,any way, just north of me they are getting up to 4 FEET,major highways are completly plugged, people stranded, its really quite bad,it is also windy, and fridgid, the problem is no one can move anywhere, even snowplows, they have to get the monster snow blowers, but there are too many cars and trucks in the way buired in snow, they can have it,we have enough. kajamo240 3 #2 Posted December 12, 2009 :notworthy: Now that is a LOT of snow! I remember last winter we had a pretty big snow storm (no where near what you are talking about) with about 20-24 inches of snow and it literally buried one of my cars so that only the antenna was sticking out. My neighbor came over and started snow blowing my driveway with his 10ft long and 3 ft high blower on his tractor. He got about 10 feet from the car and I start running out to him to make sure that he saw it and he then was about 3 feet from it and stopped and saw me running towards him and he steps out and asks "Is there a car under there? Because that sure looks like an antenna!" Talk about a close call!
HorseFixer 2,013 #3 Posted December 12, 2009 Don, altho this is my first blower I have used on a Tractor the Ole Duke is no stranger to the use of Snow Blowers. I have owned about 10 Toro Blowers Since around 1976. I have had nothing but good luck with them. And by golly the one on the C-120 is a Toro too! I guess all those years of wrestling around the Walk Behinds and Eating Snow Sandmiches I had had enough! I made a pomise I would get a Cab and outfit it and pamper myself the way I did! I figure I have paid my dues long enough with Ole man winter, and it was time to smack him right in the Ole #**% Sucker err I mean Kisser! After playin with it a couple times so far, I sure am glad I did! In our Ole age its time to start working smarter not harder!
stevasaurus 23,276 #4 Posted December 12, 2009 WOW Don...4 feet of the white stuff here would close Chicago for quite awhile. The food stores would be empty and people would panic.
can whlvr 994 #5 Posted December 13, 2009 the area that got hit that bad is not largly inhabited, mostly cottage country but there are quite a few towns, they showed a guy outside with snow to his chest, now they are saying that it is gonna be bad for snowmabiling because the ice is never going to freeze with that much snow on it and people will go out there thinking it will be safe, big surprize,we have had wind for days and it totally sucks blowing in the wind so i MUST build a cab,i have a wiper off my boat that will work good, and i might have to use plexiglass and plywood,we will see,
