bell 11 #1 Posted December 4, 2009 My truck was starting to show a little wear and the warranty was LONG gone... Plus, I'm wanting to "downsize" a bit... (smaller trailer, less stuff sitting around, etc,) I started shopping around and found that a Dodge Magnum would fit my needs just fine... 3800lb towing capacity and 25mpg (if I can keep my foot out of it... ) On to the pics! And, the best part... I will be adding a hitch soon, so I can haul my tractors to the shows... :notworthy:
bk-scouter 93 #2 Posted December 4, 2009 Real nice looking Magnum!! I love to get one some day after the minivan kicks the bucket I used to lease an '05 Ram quad cab with the Hemi, and LOVED it! 25 mpg ? I'll assume it doesn't have AWD ?
whfan74 2,071 #3 Posted December 4, 2009 Those things are definitely sharp! My wife and I contemplated about getting one 2 years ago. They definitely have nice lines and get up and scoot!
stevasaurus 23,274 #4 Posted December 4, 2009 Sharp Jon...I think you are done getting those free horses when you show up with that to pick them up. Way back in the 60's when I was delivering pizzas, I would not get any tips when I delivered with the bosses Buick Electra, white with red interior, convertable...when the Opal Cadet wasn't running. :notworthy:
Indy w h 5 #5 Posted December 4, 2009 Glad it's not red and linen beige or somebody would think you was a wheel horse freak!! Sharp ride, Jon Indy
Bow_Extreme 550 #7 Posted December 5, 2009 Glad it's not red and linen beige or somebody would think you was a wheel horse freak!! Sharp ride, Jon Indy I'd say it's paintable in wheelhorse colors. There are many interior guys out there that could make it look like a wheelhorse interior. I probably shouldn't give him any ideas.

Sparky-(Admin) 23,139 #10 Posted December 6, 2009 25 to the gallon?? Are you sure about that? The V-8 HEMI in my 2500 Dodge Ram gets 11 to the gallon all the time. I know thats not exactly comparing apples to apples but I would be very interested to see what your getting after you do your own fuel economy check. Of course no matter what it gets its got the Cool Factor all wrapped up ! Mike........

Of course no matter what it gets its got the Cool Factor all wrapped up ! Mike........ Yep, I'm sure. It shuts down 4 of the 8 cylinders at highway speeds. It does VERY good on gas if I keep my foot out of it. Best yet has been 24.9mpg on a 40 +/- mile stretch. It is currently sitting on about 18.9, but I have been doing a lot of stop and go driving with an occasional loss of traction... :notworthy:
bell 11 #12 Posted December 6, 2009 Here's a little info I dug up... http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/bymodel/200...ge_Magnum.shtml Now, this says 23mpg... My best was 24.9mpg by the onboard MPG computer thingy... this could be explained by the speed sensors, tire size, etc being a bit off... Or, I was just driving with a really light foot. All I know is that I'm amazed by the fuel economy and performance. It's the best of both worlds! :notworthy:
Sparky-(Admin) 23,139 #13 Posted December 6, 2009 Ahhh, the 8 to 4 cylinder fuel management system. I forgot about that as my gas suckin HEMI doesnt have that feature......just a big ol-34 gallon tank that allways seems to need to be filled. But if I need to get off the line quick....well it cant be beat ! Mike............
bell 11 #14 Posted December 12, 2009 The Magnum definately needed new tires. I found that out after the first snow. lol I priced tires and found that I could get a slightly used set of 20's WITH tires for just a little more. I picked them up today. They are off of a 2009 Challenger R/T and have about 6500 miles on them!
