I know this isn't the place...but it will get more exposure here. I clicked on the chat to see if anyone was there, and it is no longer available. Karl had posted the chat as a topic in the red square suggestion part...saying it ran out in Nov and vote yes or no...only 400+ members read the post and only 40 voted yes or no a few did not know we had a chat room.

I for one use the chat room...maybe once a week, but I always check it to see if anyuone is there on the way to logging off if I have time to chat. Sometimes I will post a "I am in the chat room for a certain amount of time" in the non-tractors section....I have always been successful with that tactic. Once there was 6 or 7 guys in there at the same time...that was a riot.

My point is that it has been a very good way to meet some of the members, and I have a few that I would call friends now because of the times spent there. Usually

Sat. or Sun afternoon there is somebody on.

I do not know what it cost, but I am willing to kick in to have the put back into existance...most certainly now that the weather is getting into winter and we will all have more time on the site. Maybe keep it from Oct-Apr each year.

Let this post be the venue to see if there are enough members that are willing to chip in to have the chat room...let us know how much you need to have...and where to send a check.

I am with Steve....unfortunately I have neglected to hit the paypal button down in the left hand corner to make a donation.

I for one have enjoyed chatting with many of you through this service and have made some good friends through it. It doesn't have to always be about tractors and many of you, especially Steve, has asked how mom is doing through the chat forum.

If it is a possibility to get it up and running again please let us know. I will be happy to make a donation. :notworthy:

Thanks for the heads up guys.... we'll look into it. My last understanding was that chat had been paid up for a while... but I suppose time does fly. Stay tuned... we'll get back with you when we know what's up.

Yes, chat isn't expensive, it's only about $35 for a year.

I have been sending $ 10.00 a year. I think that is fair, and if we can get enough members to chip in, a $ 10.00 donation from all that will give, will put us over the top .

I am with you Mike and Scott...this site is too important to let it go...the issue is, I have not seen anything to let me know what it cost to make this work. I am more then willing to chip in...heck I would pay the $35.00 my self just to keep the chat room.

I think it would be nice to let us know what it takes to manage a forum like thjis.

The Admins and Mods havent had to pay for chat. It was paid for by the members here(including me) who all chipped in some time back. I guess the money just ran out, but we're back in business now.

FYI, this site is totally free. Donations that are needed is only for the chat. Again, this site is free - it doesn't cost to run the site. If there are no donations - the site will not be effected - just no chat.

As for where to send the checks - Karl or Chris would be the ones (more than likely).

Thanks Terry...not trying to stir up a can of worms...just trying to help. How often do you get someone that is willing to help? They say the best things in life are free...and this site is one of them...rather then just be a taker, I have always wanted to get to a point where I can help someone also. That is who I am. I just do not mind chipping in. I guess I just appreciate Red Square that much.

Last year I couldn't spell Wheel Horse...now I are one. :notworthy:

The donations have actually gone to 2 places. First is for Chat, that was the original place for the donations, but I received more than I could use for chat so I bought the domain "www.wheelhorseforum.com" with some of the donations as well (Thought it was easier than whtractor.15.forumer.com).

In any event, I have been receiving the donations, and I assure you that 100% have been put into this forum and will continue that way.
