When replacing the key switch, did you replace it with the correct one. There is a difference between a switch for a magneto ignition, and a battery ignition. However, you said you replace the ignition coil and the magneto coil. There can only be one or the other. A magneto system has no ignition coil and vice-versa. So lets try to figure out what you have. Do you have the ID number for the C-145? What is the year? Which engine does it have? Do you have the spec number from the engine? I'm sure we can get you going if we have the right info.

It is a 1-14259 and I replaced the switch with a 5 pin 3 position should be a 1980 model year with a k321AS and spec is 60362d

That spec is a battery points ignition with a 15 amp Stator for charging.  The regulator you have sitting loose is not the correct one.. The finned one mounted on the hoodstand is.  Run a jumper from Battery+ to the + terminal on the coil crank it and see if you get spark,

If you had power on the coil and no spark next thing is points... Make sure they are opening and closing and clean them up...

C-145 has a fuse taped into the wire harness in the area between the starter and regulator. Check that for the heck of it

No change, would the spark plug cable cause loss of spark

The tractor model number is not 1-14259/

Will guess it is 01-14KE01 if the transmission filter is at the rear of the tractor

or model 01-14KS01 if the filter is on the right side of the transmission.

They changed from Sundstrand hydro's to Eaton mid-year 1980 and why the use of E and S in the model number.

It sure could  also is the plug new.  You might want to steal a Plug wire and plug from a working tractor if you have one.

if you have a test lamp hook it between the - terminal on the coil and battery positive... by hand slowly turn the engine over  the light should turn on an off as the engine is turned over.

Have you confirmed spark at points by hand and if so are you sure the points are set to open at .020 or close to it. I did have one a while back that had a bad wire going to points and was grounding everthing out. Just spit balling here.

First things first., the ignition coil needs to be bolted to the block to make a good ground.

Send back the voltage regulator that is sitting on the battery, it is not for correct for your :wh: and has nothing to do with your lack of spark situation.

As @sqrlgtr suggested, remove the points cover and see if there is spark at the points when the engine is turned over.

The most accurate method for setting points is static timing, follow the attached vedio.

I just had a 312-8 with no spark.     Po had put in a new plug.    I checked coil, condenser, points with no change.   removed the new Chumpion plug and installed an old NKG.

Runs perfect.

1 I don’t have a test lamp but interesting idea I will look into to one

2 I have confirmed the gap on the points and it seems to be timed

3 what do you mean by ignition coil do you have a example that would help

4 volt regulator came with rectifier coil I was not going to use it

5 it is the original spark plug which I gapped and cleaned

If you have a multi meter we can tell you how to do it with out a test light.

Ignition coil is the can shaped thing the spark plug wire comes out of

I am not sure I know what you mean by rectifier coil.  Is it the stator that is under the flywheel it has nothing to do with spark.(see pic)
