gwest_ca-(File Mod) 12,505 #2 Posted Sunday at 11:24 AM When I do this I use are longer bolt with about 3/8" of unthreaded rod below the head. This way the rotating parts are not pivoting on bolt threads which will cause wear. The unthreaded part extends through the complete assembly plus a bit. Add enough flat washers below the nut so there is room for future adjustment. Cut off the threads that are not used. Reaching in with two wrenches to make future adjustments is a breeze.
peter lena 10,082 #3 Posted Sunday at 12:33 PM @bradleydavidgood personally have added a light / medium extension spring to all my , choke / throttle cables , at the opposite end , to pull it closed / stop ? that way you always have a MOVEMENT ASSIST , to any cable movement , of course ,all my cables are lubricated for movement function , https://www.google.com/search?q=light+extension+spring&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS866US866&oq=light+extension+spring+&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyCggAEEUYFhge like 3-1 penetrating oil , easy to experiment on this , years in usage , consistently work . pete

Lee1977 7,800 #5 Posted Sunday at 07:51 PM I have fix a few of mine by just reaching down in there and clamping them tight with large vice grips. You can use the adjustment on the vice grips as to how tight you want to clamp the throttle.

953 nut 69,739 #7 Posted 39 minutes ago I have tightened up a couple of these by laying them on the work bench, placing the rounded end of a ballpeen hammer in the indented area, and smacking the ballpeen with another hammer peening the pivot point. Always start with a hammer, if that doesn't work get a bigger hammer.
