BPEisenhower 683 #1 Posted 23 hours ago Greetings Horse Family 😁. So being it was a pleasant afternoon, I decided to get more work done to the C120. Didn't go so well. Fuel pump filled the block with fuel. No problem, I got a new Carbole electric pump. Got everything plumbed, wired and made a plate to block off manual pump, ready to go! Sadly, no. Gas poured out of the Walbro and didn't bother to try and start. Took off bowl and seen the years of rust and debris inside. So, now is there any place besides Amazon and eBay to get carb rebuilding kits and the Kohler fuel pump rebuild kit? Not going with electric again. Definitely not interested in buying a knock off carb either. Any advice on where to go for exact fit parts is welcome. Thought about going to the local NAPA since all the people in town say he uses books and not the computer, also he asks to have the item being worked on brought in so he can see it himself. Thanks again for any input! I'll post more pictures when I get it sorted out and running again!

A good quality, properly rated, electric fuel pump is the most reliable way. 3 hours ago, BPEisenhower said: So, now is there any place besides Amazon and eBay to get carb rebuilding kits and the Kohler fuel pump rebuild kit? You will get instant start ups as the carb bowl is filled before you crank the engine. Of course you have to have a carb that is working properly that shuts off the fuel when the bowl is full. IMO, the e-pumps are the bomb. They save my batteries and starters. 1

953 nut 69,699 #6 Posted 6 hours ago The price of an electric pump is about the same as a kit to rebuild the mechanical pump and as Ed said, instant starts and no worry about gas in the crankcase.
BPEisenhower 683 #7 Posted 6 hours ago Ok, so, I will keep the pump as is. I took off fixed jet Walbro, made a block off plate for mechanical fuel pump, located a Kohler carb and removed the little ball welded to the throttle and I get to have a crow sandwich since the set-up is working. Plan to install a light to let me know pump is getting power but overall,it's good for now 😁. However, being picky, I do still want the original pump just so I have it anyways. Now, time for the next project(s). Thank you all for the help and feedback! BTW, I didn't do much with the carb on it now, sprayed out the main jet and made sure the float and needle moved. Can't believe it was on a motor for 15 or more years under a tarp and bolted on with no leaks or bogging. Think I might start collecting Kohler engines too🤪
